Everything you need to know about how Catchevo works.
What does Catchevo do?
You find a product you want on any website, tap "Start catching," and we search the internet to find it cheaper, in your size, or back in stock. Not just at that one shop, but across hundreds. When we find it, you get a "CAUGHT IT!" notification with a link to buy.
What types of catches can I set?
Two types: Price, we search across hundreds of shops to find it cheaper. Restock, we actively search for that exact product across other shops, not just the one where you found it out of stock.
Why do I need notifications enabled?
Notifications are how we tell you we've caught something. Without them, you'd have to open the app to check, and the whole point is that we come to you.
Can I receive catches by email?
Yes. Go to Settings and add up to three email addresses. That way you'll get catch results on your phone and in your inbox. Useful if you're at work or want to share with someone.
Can I delete or change a catch after creating it?
After a catch is set you have 10 seconds to undo.
Is Catchevo free to use?
We offer 5 free catches upon initial sign up, valid for 90 days from sign up. After that, you can purchase more. Head to your balance and tap Get More Catches.
Why can't I see product options like sizes or colors?
Usually this means you're not on a product page. Make sure you've navigated to the specific product (not a category or search results page) and try again.
Product options still don't show, what should I do?
Head to settings and tap the feedback button. Describe what you're seeing and attach a screenshot or screen recording. We'll look into it.
How often are products checked?
Most catches land within the first 30 minutes if the product is available somewhere cheaper or in stock. If we find something but it doesn't meet the minimum discount for your product's price, we'll send it to you for free and refund your catch.
Which websites does Catchevo work with?
Any website with a product page. Big retailers, boutique shops, niche marketplaces. If it sells products, you can set a catch on it. Right now we support all shops in the United States, United Kingdom, and the Netherlands, with more countries coming.
Why can't I find alternatives for some stores?
Some brands such as Ikea or Zara only sell their own products. So we cannot hunt elsewhere for cheaper prices and availability. However you will be presented the option to monitor the product for changes in price and/or stock level.
How do I invite friends to try Catchevo?
Simply head to in-app settings and tap Invite. You can then share this URL with your friends so they can start catching.
Does Catchevo work from mobile browsers?
Yes. Use the Share button in any app or browser, tap the Catchevo logo, and the product opens in the app ready to catch.
How long does a catch stay active?
Your catch runs once. If we find your product cheaper, in your size or back in stock during that hunt, we'll notify you.
For price drop catches, we only charge your catch credit when the saving meets our minimum discount threshold. The threshold depends on the original product price:
- £0–£100 / $0–$100 / €0–€100 → 10%
- £100–£500 / $100–$500 / €100–€500 → 8%
- £500–£1,000 / $500–$1,000 / €500–€1,000 → 6%
- £1,000+ / $1,000+ / €1,000+ → 5%
If we find a cheaper option but the saving falls below the threshold, we'll send it to you for free and refund your catch.
For restock and variant catches, there is no discount threshold. Your catch credit is charged as soon as we find the product in your requested variant or back in stock.
What happens when we catch something?
You'll get a "CAUGHT IT!" notification showing all retailers where the product was found. You choose where to buy.
Are the retailers Catchevo shows me trustworthy?
Yes. Every retailer is verified via ScamAdviser. We never send you to unverified websites.
Do I buy through Catchevo or at the retailer?
You always buy directly at the retailer. Catchevo only finds the product for you.
Can I set multiple catches on the same product?
Yes. You can combine price and variant catches on the same product.
What if the match isn't right?
Tap the feedback button on the winning store and follow the steps to submit your feedback. We will look into this and return the catch credit to your balance if a genuine issue.
Is my data safe?
Yes. Our privacy policy and terms explain how your data is handled and can be found in the app settings.
Why are refurbished and pre-owned included?
Better for your wallet, better for the planet. We include them by default so you get the widest range of results. You can toggle them off anytime in Settings > Sustainable Shopping.
Is Catchevo independent?
Yes. You pay us, so we work for you. No one else. No retailer influences your results. No shop gets priority over another. When we catch a lower price, your size, or a restock at multiple shops, we show you all of them. You pick the one you feel most comfortable with.
